Elemental Harmony - India Retreat
Elemental Harmony Retreat
Journey into the Five Elements through Ritual, Ayurveda, Yoga, and Inner Reflection
December 12–15, 2025 | Purna Vidya Ashram, Coimbatore, India
About the Retreat
The pañca mahābhūta are the five great elements through which all life expresses itself. Earth (Pṛthvī), Water (Āpas), Fire (Agni), Air (Vāyu), and Space (Ākāśa) are the living forces that sustain the body, the mind, and the world around us.
The Caraka Saṃhitā teaches that every tissue, every taste, and every sense experience arises from these elements. Their balance maintains well-being, and their disturbance gives rise to the doṣas known as Vāta, Pitta, and Kapha.
Elemental Harmony is a four-day immersion into these principles through direct experience. The retreat is an invitation to observe, listen, and feel the presence of the elements through ritual, yoga, Ayurveda, and quiet reflection. Participants will be guided to recognise how the elements move within nature and within the human system, allowing this understanding to unfold through the senses and the mind.
Each day begins with sacred sound and continues through elemental exploration, reflection, and integration. Knowledge becomes felt through rhythm, presence, and the simplicity of being in contact with nature.

The Experience
Mornings begin with Vedic invocations at the Vana Liṅgeśwara temple, sacred sound offered to the elements in prayerful awareness.
The days open into forest walks, sensory observation, and group dialogue, followed by Ayurvedic and philosophical sessions that reveal how the elements express themselves through body, mind, and environment.
Afternoons allow time for rest, journaling, or private consultations, accompanied by tea and stillness.
Evenings invite collective reflection, mantra, and guided meditation, where the qualities of each element are experienced through breath, mudrā, and silence.
Participants will explore the grounding stability of Earth, the flowing sweetness of Water, the transformative warmth of Fire, the vitality of Air, and the expansive stillness of Space.
By the end of the retreat, these principles become intimate companions rather than abstract ideas.

This unique union invites a deeper exploration of the Tantra and Ayurveda teachings on Shiva and Shakti, the male and female energies, symbolized by the sun and moon. The summer solstice is a time of light, abundance, and the zenith of nature's bounty, while the full moon complements this radiance with its serene, reflective glow, encouraging introspection and renewal.
